Artist Statement
My artistic work focuses on exploring spirituality and connection with nature, using symbols and rituals as a means of expression. Through my works, I seek to share real and meditative experiences, making the invisible visible. I experiment with different aesthetic actions using the elements of earth, fire, and water. Performative and installative experiences permeate me, and it is there that I find the path that shows me what I want to say and how I want to say it. The pictorial works are the result of all these experiences.
Living in Argentine Patagonia, I immerse myself in a natural environment that becomes a constant source of inspiration. Climate changes, landscapes, and connection with the territory are fundamental elements for the development of my works.
I penetrate the purposes of life with the only certainty of physical death through the durability that painting allows and its possibility of permanence. Therefore, rituals and symbols become the central language in the construction of a narrative. One of the symbols I use is the spiral, which proposes a constant renewal, a channel of connection with everything, and on the other hand, there is the hummingbird or austral hummingbird, related to different spiritual planes.
These experiential records begin by exploring the history of the women in my family, the bonds of unconditional love, and innocence. Delving into self-portraits collaborated and brought to life all the contained and guarded pains.
I am reaching some conclusions that as human beings we need different meanings to navigate this stage. The aesthetic-visual work gives me the possibility to rewrite my own history, like the blank canvas of a new beginning.

Biography
Pilar was born in the Province of San Juan in 1990 and discovered her passion for art and creative expression at an early age. Throughout her life, she sought to explore various forms of manifestation through this language, from painting techniques to installations and performances. During her adolescence, she studied at the workshop of renowned artist Teresa Trillini, who provided her with a solid artistic foundation and introduced her to painting. This endless chain of experimentation allowed Pilar to connect with painting, marking the beginning of her journey.
After a few years, she continued her education in Visual Arts at the Instituto Santa Ana (Buenos Aires), where she specialized in Media and Technologies for Painting Production at the National University of Art (UNA) upon graduation. Over the years, she has trained in various topics of interest, from “Techniques for Dream Comprehension” (a view from Transpersonal Psychology) to the course “Text of the Work” by recognized Argentine artist Silvia Gurfein.
The color and gesturality achieved with the brush opened the door for this painter to delve into Contemporary language, where autobiographical experiments with paintings, photographs, installations, performances, and video art began. In 2016, she moved to Argentine Patagonia, where she opened the "Taller Colibrí," a Visual Art space offering seminars and courses year-round.
Currently, she lives in Villa la Angostura, continuing her artistic research. During April-May-June, she participated in the Chiasso Perdutto Residency in Florence, Italy, and the RARO Residency in Barcelona.
